RE: jagex Logics - Gohankuten - 2012-02-25 It took him 8 hours to convert all the stuff into a single xp book. and then factor in how long it took him to get all the stuff in the first place and you are looking at poor xp/hr especially for the stats it can be used for. Effigies could actually give you better xp/hr than actually training the skill which was why they needed to be nerfed. Also sq'rk juice collection is training thieving just that you can stock up on them and turn them all in at once if you so choose. And goliath gloves have always been worth it but now they are even more so. They last longer and you can get more than 1 pair at a time. Course goliaths gloves are a little niche for combat but the niche they fill is pretty nice. RE: jagex Logics - Random Dandy - 2012-02-25 tbh the main reason for the whole effigy thing was just to remove any possible incentive that would cause people to camp monsters for effigies to avoid training the actual skills in the way that they are meant to. I don't think Jagex has a *huge* problem with people hoarding xp that can be gained quickly, because if you think about it, there are all sorts of ways you can do that: Dungeoneering tokens, flash powder factory points, brimhaven agility tokens, vinesweeper, squirk juice, collecting huge stacks of summoning charms, etc.. Goliath gloves were not worth the effort previously, and now they only save you the time you actually spend getting them, so still not worth it. When you compare rapier and sole Goliath gloves we find that rapier is still better. So in honesty doing this serves no practical use because of the time it takes for the xp gained. You only named 3 monsters that actually benefits from Goliath gloves. Most of the time Wyverns are blocked or skipped because they are a waste of time. I agree with you on waterfiends that it's very fast killing them, but ONLY at Chaos tunnels with steel/iron titan. Gargoyles are ok, you can notice the difference in speed. Other than that there's no real use of the gloves unless you want the extra stats. Even then it's not worth the time to get them, unless you want to kill time in Dominion Tower. Considering the time it used to take, and even the time it takes now, they won't increase kills/hr anymore than a chaotic maul. Also bandos is a waste of xp, go to Nex if want 2 boss. RE: jagex Logics - Dave - 2012-02-26 Whether or not goliaths are efficient enough or whether you think they're worth getting, some of us are going to get them anyway and some aren't, because that's what we want to do. Should it bother anybody that some of us want to play on our own terms?
