Dominion Tower - Shay - 2011-11-01 The Dominion Tower allows accomplished combatants the chance to revisit some of the best boss fights in RuneScape in an awe-inspiring new environment, with challenging handicaps, all-new scenarios and some great rewards: - Climber mode allows you to ascend through the levels of the tower, facing a randomly chosen boss scenario on each floor. After each victory, an effect will be applied and will persist through all subsequent fights in that attempt. While a few of these will be beneficial, most of them will be handicaps. You’ll be able to replenish food and change equipment between fights, so how high will hubris take you? - Endurance mode restricts your access to the bank after each fight, so whatever you take in needs to last. This mode is a true test of tenacity. - Special mode presents a range of challenging, treacherous and, often, weird encounters with which to test your skill and ingenuity. Fancy fighting Count Draynor, Elvarg, and their miscreant buddies with nothing but your fists and a bunch of explosives? How about 15 Evil Chickens? Think you can beat down Nomad twice in a row? We’d love to see you try! - Freestyle mode lets you fight on your own terms. There are no rewards for using this mode, but it’s a great way to cut your teeth for the big leagues, or just show off fighting a boss under your own crazily difficult rules. - Spectator mode allows you to view the fights of another player whom you’ve tagged with your dominion talisman. Cheer on your friends, celebrate their victories and wince sympathetically as they’re pummelled into the ground. Rewards include: weapons and explosives to be used in the tower; a dominion marker to show off your accomplishments and to give you a boost when fighting other bosses; combat XP; a fierce dreadnip companion, and all-new melee, ranged and magic gloves to be used outside the tower. These degradable gloves are some of the most powerful you can get your hands on (or in) and look brilliant. Most of all, have fun...and fight to win! Mod Tim How to start Dominion Tower: From Shantay Pass, cross the northernmost bridge to the east bank of the River Elid. The entrance is just to the north. Once you’ve travelled there, speak to the face of the tower for a medallion that’ll teleport you back. Requirements: - Level 110 Combat - At least 20 of the following quests. The more of these you have completed, the more bosses will be available to fight in the tower: A Void Dance Love Story Between a Rock... Missing My Mummy Blood Runs Deep Monkey Madness The Chosen Commander Mountain Daughter Contact! My Arm's Big Adventure The Curse of Arrav Nomad's Requiem Demon Slayer Recipe For Disaster Desert Treasure Shadow of the Storm Dealing with Scabaras Spirits of the Elid Dragon Slayer The Great Brain Robbery Dream Mentor The Temple at Senntisten The Family Crest Toktz-Ket-Dill Fight Arena Troll Romance The Fremennik Trials Troll Stronghold Haunted Mine Vampyre Slayer The Holy Grail The Void Stares Back Horror from the Deep Wanted! Legends' Quest While Guthix Sleeps Lost City In Other News... - There’s still a week left to obtain your Halloween items if you’ve yet to attend Deathcon II! - Clan Citadel battlefields now have new rune and arrow spawn points. - A huge thanks for all of your feedback on Dominion Tower at Runefest! There were some great suggestions, and we'll be working to implement the best of these over the coming weeks and months. Be sure to look out for the new, competition-winning boss too! Patch notes for this update: (Click to View) RE: Dominion Tower - Mini Kniight - 2011-11-01 IMO its a lame update its just an update to refight quest bosses. why dont give an option to let us kill quests bosses over and over ?? just another lame combat update and no focus on skills RE: Dominion Tower - Downfall - 2011-11-02 RuneScape is an adventure game and to me climbing a tower and reaching things that you've already seen seems a bit lacking to me. I'm sure it looks great and the mods have worked really hard, so I do appreciate that. It does however get you thinking - among the exciting memories I have of games, they always involve discovering something new - this building is new, but what's in it is old. Entertainment value = 0? :/ RE: Dominion Tower - Tay - 2011-11-02 Boss-hunting isn't really my thing so I can't see myself getting too much use out of this update. I'm sure others will find some enjoyment from it though. I'll probably go and check it out today just for the hell of it :> RE: Dominion Tower - Dave - 2011-11-02 Seemed kind of interesting based on my short experience with it. I could see it getting boring pretty quick, just as you're getting the hang of it. Climber and Special Mode look to me like they could be pretty challenging, but Endurance was a joke. You mostly get 30 second boss-fights with an occasional moderate challenge thrown in there. I didn't use any kind of supplies besides overloads in the 11 rounds I played, and I didn't even need those. RE: Dominion Tower - AlchemyHawk - 2011-11-02 Seems to me like the option I voted which not bad. Not something I will be doing, but that is nothing new with updates (not a slight to Jagex, I just generally do not try new stuff because I am weird that way). Rewards seem decent, I hope those XP boosting gloves are not over-powered though. RE: Dominion Tower - Smith - 2011-11-02 Not tried yet, but they are not motivating me with it. Maybe if they put in great rewards, but atm not really my think. I dont like quests and wont do em for this. Not voted cuz not tried. RE: Dominion Tower - Exbajalator - 2011-11-02 I enjoyed it, although endurance mode is hella easy, I don't mind. Trying to get through challenge mode is what it is, a challenge and working out how to do the special ones is pretty tough as well. I need to finish off the rest of the quests I have to get the all of the rewards. Pretty certain there's some new monsters in it as well, but what you mostly fight in it are the same ol' ones. Something different anyway RE: Dominion Tower - Angury - 2011-11-02 This update hasn't really affected me since I'm not really a fighter, but I went to check it out and watch a friend fight. It looks like fun if you're into that sort of thing. I didn't recognize half the monsters my friend was fighting; shows how much attention I pay when I'm completing quests. :p The gloves look like a nice reward to aim for as well; good luck to anyone whose planning to go for them. Also, won't this make collecting desert pheonix feathers for super antifires a lot easier since there's now a bank close by? RE: Dominion Tower - Lilbod - 2011-11-02 This update is causing me serious problems with disconnecting. JaGex best sort it in todays update! |
