He mentioned they are good for AOE abilities which are used for monsters like abyssal demons. In addition, they drop the new slayer gem which was around 20m on release (not sure how much now), so they wouldn't be a bad alternative until someone reports exp rates.
i may have to check those out, i know Darkbeasts got fixed, i think they are more accurate
