We now have an extra 5 points of range strength over the previous most powerful bolt (onyx-tipped rune bolt with a range strength of 120) and I would think, depending on the cost per bolt tip from Mami, quite a bit cheaper to aquire.
I will probably try the non-wilderness resources first but if they prove too slow or troublesome may venture into the wilderness.
In my selfish opinion, anything that makes it easier for me to kill Jad gets top marks from me.
The bolt tips cost 200 each. I didn't buy any so I don't know if the price goes up. They're not reusable like other bolts, but if you're making them yourself you won't spend a whole lot.
These days it's easier to mage the fight caves with a polypore staff and ganodermic equipment. You get >50% magic absorb from the ganodermic so you can kill Jad without switching prayers.

The trees in the wilderness are higher yield than the ones outside, and on top of that you won't get the same competition for those logs because of the danger element and the fact that you have to risk money by bringing the bolt tips with you in order to fletch the bolts. Any chump can go to soul wars, but I don't think it will be nearly as rewarding.
I received more logs outside the wild then I did inside it. If there is an increase in yield in wild logs, it isnt much. Most I got from any of the 6 trees I cut was 3 logs.
The trees are instanced. You cutting a tree doesnt affect how many logs the person next to you gets.
From vids i've seen, dragonfire bolts can KO better.
I feel like they should increase the Wild yield more. Or maybe I just got unlucky.
The fact that the trees are instanced does make a pretty big difference. I wasn't going to bother with them myself, but I'll go check them out when I have time.
The difference in yield needs to be pretty significant if it isn't already, and I think the bolt tips should probably be more expensive. At 200 each, you're really not risking a whole lot, except that of course someone can kill you afterward for the finished bolts.
