There's no need for any insults from anyone (I don't know who all is involved and even if I did I wouldn't point at everyone involved). Keep your heads on and explain it *respectfully* to people who don't understand. Because, need I repeat, this is NOT the real Surreal. I KNOW it isn't. Drama, insults, etc isn't what this clan is based on.

A lot of people are extremely high strung by this activity point requirement change (I'm not, but I can definitely feel it from others), and therefore there's a lot of negative emotions swirling around. Not everyone is gonna understand and we as a clan have to be patient and respectful with them, because isn't that part of what Surreal is based on? Kindness and respect? I thought so, but I'm not feeling either of those things right now, and it's sad.

This type of drama comes up in all clans eventually, whether it be rarely or all the time. In Surreals case its very rarely that these disagreements happen. People are just getting panicky because it seems like a huge leap in numbers but as someone has already said since we now have events all the time its not really an issue for most.

However I'm afraid I'm among the majority thats probably getting booted in a couple of months time when I return to work because I work away from home 5 days a week. But I'm going to talk to Jord about it and see what I can do... :/

Arguements happen from time to time Mel, at the time it happens it might not look alright but it also helps to keep people sharp in some way. I'm not implying people shouldn't treat eachother with respect though. It's unrealistic to think arguements should be out of the question since there will always be times when people get on edge with eachother a little.
I agree with you that the main way to go in Surreal is kindness and respect and that those guidelines should be followed. I'm sure Downfall, Joey and the others are willing to help out people who can't always meet the required points (as stated by both Jordan and Joey already).

Oh, I totally understand where you're coming from Velvet. I know arguments will inevitably happen, and sometimes clannies will get on edge/rub each other the wrong way, but there should never be a necessity to be insulting or anything of the sort, at any time. It's perfectly understandable that arguments will happen from time to time, but it can still be done maturely ^_^

I think some people are just freaked out cause instead of only needing to attend 4 events in a month, they now need to attend 7. Plus, 250 looks like a daunting number compared to 130 (at least I thought so). I'm not worried about it though, but I also know I don't have as tight of schedules as others do. And yes, Jordy and his staff (not just Joey) are willing to work with anyone affected by this, I'm sure of it smile

You just gave me a random genius idea, Witchy! Personalized activity point requirements. Like, if someone, like yourself, can't be on a lot due to working away from home, then you and Jordy could talk about it and come to a mutual agreement based on how many events or "activities" (since there's more than just events affecting the activity point system) you think you can do.

Everyone would want the same treatment.

The problem with granted people different point requirements will inevitably lead to misuse of the system. The leading team at least needs a to have a certain trust in a member to give them a 'special' treatment. I do think members need to be valued over activity points though.

True, but surely there'd be a way people wouldn't be able to abuse it. I'm not sure if anyone even would. And it would be a nice alternative for people like yourself who can't be as active, but still are contributing to the clan when you can. Why should you get singled out/penalized when you're still putting forth the best effort you can, afterall smile

In most clans if you can't meet the requirements set for the clan then your in the wrong clan to best suite your needs. Sad

I can understand that people here were used to how things were, but we're not going to get anywhere as a clan standing still. Look at the new points system for SWC, look at events and what we're doing with those, and you're gonna see that we are only making it easier to get the points you need.

It's simply easier to change the activity requirement than to reduce how many points you get for an event. Changing it in one place vs a hundred places.

If you have concerns about your ability to make activity; I wouldn't panic. I'd just shoot me a message and we'll discuss what we can do to fix the problem. I don't want to be that hardass guy that forces everyone to be a certain way. If you look, we barely remove people from the clan via activity reports, and I've always taken absences and business into account. Don't make the mistake of blowing this up into something it's not. The title says "Adjusted", because that's exactly what it is - an adjustment.

The activity requirement was not raised.

Please message me with your concerns, and do not spur any drama. That's the last thing we need as a recovering clan. Just try it out, and you'll be surprised what the result is at the end of the month.
You are no better than anyone else, and no one is better than you.
