It happens occasionally, especially when I world hop. I've found that it fixes itself after a little while, if you can manage to move over the black screen and find either an NPC or an environment (wildy wall/door/bank), and clicking on that has gotten it to go away.
Loading the map and or SoF has helped too. Ideally what Jon said is what you should do, but in the mean time, some other avenues if it happens.
