We're now approaching the end of 2016, and the new beginning that will be 2017. What better time than now to look back at 2016 and give away some awards? If you have been here since forever or only recently, you all deserve some recognition. Without you we wouldn't exist, you make Surreal what it is. So we like to take this moment to honor some of Surreal's role models. These awards are used to recognize the stand out members of our clan, as well as highlight and showcase our most widely recognized and different personalities around the clan.
In addition to last year’s categories, we’re also re-introducing older ones and giving life to completely new ones. Most categories will be self-explanatory while others will make you scratch your head. That’s why we are listing every category with a short description below.

The categories
Member of the Year 2016
Surreal has many outstanding members, but this award is only for the most outstanding one.
Newcomer of the Year 2016
Over the past year, quite some members have joined Surreal (60 to be precise). Which one of them do you think deserves to receive the award of Newcomer of the Year?
Most Improved
This award is for the member whom you think improved the most in 2016, whether it's within Surreal itself or within RuneScape
The Underdog
Some people like to hide in the shadows and strike when least expected, blowing everyone else away. Does this description remind you of someone? Be sure to nominate him/her for The Underdog.
Contributor
Surreal had always welcomed member input and initiative, and many members have spent their time and effort to help make Surreal what it is today. Now is your chance to nominate them for all the things they've done for Surreal.
Clan Clown
Remember that funny thing that happened in the Clan Chat in RuneScape? Or something funny that went on in TeamSpeak or Discord? This award is for someone who makes those funny things happen or who's always in for a laugh.
Note: This is an award for funny clowns, not the creepy ones that have been popping up all over the world the past year
Sloth
Sloth (noun): a mammal that moves very slowly and lives in trees. Ow wait, it's the other kind of sloth we're looking for here. This award is for people who are known for being lazy, who say they're going to train a skill or slay a boss but still haven't done that 2 months later.
Best Bankstanding
Some people are strange to the outside world of RuneScape, and even get lost when walking from Lumbridge to Draynor. But put them in any bank within RuneScape, and they can tell you all about its history, how many windows it has, what the names of the bankers are and who often visits them. That's simply because these people are almost living in banks.
Best AFK’er
Some people are great at multitasking and do other stuff while playing RuneScape. Others... not so much. It's time to nominate those of us who are great at being bad at multitasking and who AFK a lot.
Most Respected Member
Respect has to be earned. You now have the chance to show your respect even more by nominating them for this award!
Social Butterfly
The king/queen of being social, someone who talks about everything with everyone in Clan Chat, TeamSpeak/Discord and the forum.
Master of Posts
The Master of Posts isn’t pulling the string on the forum, but he/she sure is someone who posts a lot on the forum, whether it's updates on his/her G&A, congratulating someone on their G&A, welcoming new members or participating in forum games.
Most impressive gains
Not everyone gains levels at the same speed or efficiency and not every gain is as impressive as another. It's time to recognize the most impressive gains of this year.
Most Likely to Skip Life for RuneScape
A Skill Week Competition is going on, or an event is taking place later on. This award is for those who would skip something in life to get extra gains in the Skill Week Competition, or to be able to attend an event, or simply to spend some more time in the wonderful world called RuneScape
FAQ
1. how can I nominate someone?
You can nominate members by sending a Personal Message to @ChangingLane. This way no one will see who nominated who.
To nominate members, please use this form as it will make it easier for us to make a list of all the people that have been nominated. You don't have to nominate someone for each of the given categories. If you're not sure who to nominate for one, just leave that one open.

2. How many awards can one person win?
A single clan member may be nominated for as many award categories as there are available, however, they may only win a maximum of three awards. If at the end of voting, they have won more than three awards, then they will win the categories that they received the most votes for. In the other categories, the member with the next highest number of votes will then take the award.
3. What happens if there is a tie in the voting between a number of members?
If a tie occurs, then the members involved in the tie will all receive an award. There will be no tie breaks.
4. Who can I nominate for these awards?
You may nominate every member of Surreal, regardless of how long they've been a member or what their current rank is.
5. Do I have to nominate someone or vote?
Nominating people and voting is completely optional. We will not force you to nominate/vote. These awards are simply so you can place your support behind your fellow clan-mates in the hope that they'll perhaps get the recognition they deserve.
6. May I nominate myself?
No, you can't nominate yourself. Once the voting starts, however, you are allowed to vote for yourself (because let's be honest, everyone votes for themselves right?)
7. Until what date can I nominate members?
The nomination-round started when this thread was posted and will run until 08 January 2017 8am GMT.
You will be able to start voting a couple of hours later and the voting will run until 15 January 2017 12am GMT.
The results of the voting will be posted about 2 hours later on 15 January 2017 around 2am GMT.
