Members’ Loyalty Programme – Now Available!
Thread Closed

Once you sign up to the programme, you will be awarded Loyalty Points for every month that you subscribe. There are some great discounts available for a limited time after the programme’s release, so sign up now to get your hands on some new items immediately!

Please visit the RuneScape homepage, hover your mouse pointer over "Account" and select "Members Loyalty Programme" from the drop-down menu.

The number of points received per month will increase, depending on how many consecutive months of membership you have had without a break. Further details of how this will work can be found in the Loyalty Programme FAQ.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the high number of people trying to join the programme at the moment you may experience problems when trying to sign-up. If this happens to you please be patient and try again later, it is caused by the sheer volume of registrations taking place at the same time. We would also like to reassure you that the discounted items are going to continue to be available for the time being.

The points can be exchanged with the intrepid merchant Xuan, who has set up shop at Burthorpe to sell his fine wares.

The first of the new rewards are the auras, which can be equipped in an all-new equipment slot to provide a variety of effects: some are powerful; some are practical; some are simply preposterous. Ever had a fierce beast backed into a corner and wanted to guarantee that elusive killing blow? How about ensuring sure footing on agility obstacles? Perhaps you’ve always wanted to be able to turn your cannonballs into squid and unleash a cephalopod onslaught from your dwarf cannon. All of these, and more, can be achieved by equipping the necessary aura. The cooldown periods of these auras continue to elapse while you’re logged out, so you can rely on your favourite aura being available at the most opportune time. They look pretty cool, too!

Other rewards include new costumes; a range of exotic outfits brought to you from faraway lands. There are new emotes to be learned: everything from a robust, hearty handshake to scorching, flaming breath. Members will also be able to purchase the option to re-colour their Robin Hood hat and pet rock in a variety of hues. Finally, an entirely new option to purchase in-game titles will be available. These appear in chat and when your character is clicked on in-game. Whether you’re a Crusader, an Overlord or even a Duderino, there’s a title for every situation.

These new items are untradeable, but should you lose any item previously acquired from Xuan’s store, you can obtain a replacement by simply speaking to its resourceful proprietor.

For full details on how to start enjoying the Loyalty Programme, visit the Loyalty Programme Page right away!

Remember: for a limited time following the release, the following discounts will be available. Sign up right away to take full advantage of these!

I actually think this was a pretty good update, and the rewards seem useful without being overpowered, good update in my books. smile
I know many people complained that they didn't ocunt past memberships, but those people are generally annoying idiots. I also know were upset with Jagex offering rewards based on getting payed, but to be honest I doubt people who are F2P would pay just for these. There are way more other things that makes membership worth the money, rathere then these (though I agree Jagex did stress the word membership this update a bit much). From reading the update, it seems like this is more of a way for exisiting members to renew their membership quicker, which seems like a smart tactic and I am fine with it.

I was a little skeptical about this update at first, but it seems to be a good idea so far. Not just for Jagex, but for players as well. Really, F2P players already get enough benefits; take it from someone who has played a plethora of online games. Most of them don't offer a free version (maybe a 7-10 day free trial) and the ones that do offer a free version are much more limited than RuneScape.

Right now, the rewards are out and they're not the greatest, but they will continue to improve as time goes on and as people earn more loyalty points. The current rewards aren't terrible, so I really encourage anyone who's reading this to go out and spend some points before the sales end, whether it's on outfits, emotes, auras, or titles. This update gives players a fun twist to the game by adding some cosmetic items, items that have silly purposes (beer firing cannon, anyone?), or even items that have pretty good practical use, such as the reverence aura.

That said, not everyone plays the game the same way, so some people will find some auras useful while others wouldn't even think to purchase them. It gives a little more customization to your character, and to your style of gameplay. I think the update was a very good idea and not beneficial to just Jagex's pockets, but also the player's gameplay value.

Yes, they are trying to pull F2P players into being members with this update, but isn't that what all member's content is meant for? New skills, new items, new training methods, all sorts of new stuff is unlocked when you go from F2P to members; it's meant to be that way so that Jagex can make money.

Running a business is a lot of work and some gaming companies go about trying to make money in all the wrong ways. It's great they put this kind of update in, as opposed to some stupid cash shop that a lot of F2P online games have. "Spend $60 on this new uber-sword so you can play through this dungeon with your guild!" Forget that, been through too many games like that before. Well done, Jagex.

@Patch notes: Very thankful that they fixed the Trollheim agility shortcuts, it will make herb running much less annoying.

I love that I can change my robin hood, robin and arma are both my favourite clothing in rs and have been for all time - now i can wear my robin no matter what the occasion Wub

cannot wait till i have 25k points so I can get the Queen title and all the emotes, not happy that my emote screen now has blank spots it's the one thing in rs that used to drive me insane and I pretty much trained all my stats up and did all diaries/tasks just to get all the emotes in game, now i have to wait till i have enough points to pay for the rest of the emotes - only shitty part of the loyalty program Sad

This update is not enough to convince me iff I ever quit runescape to keep on feeding them money on my months off.

Still not a fan of this direction, but I am sure there is no use fighting it anymore. Lets just hope this is as far as we get to RWT.

Queen Meg...oh gosh. Rofl
I guess I see things like the emotes as a challenge, rather than something annoying me. Tongue

Bought the Rev aura while it's still cheap. Next one is Jack of Trades. I don't see a point in any of the other rewards except the Auras. Titles are pretty annoying to me for some reason. We can already change our name, why not just change your name to Sir -----?

I bought the prayer one, and the catfight emote, because they were on sale. smile
Was a difficult choice between the agility, fishing and prayer ones. I will probably save for the Hermes one now, but I will let others buy it first ot see how good the xp is. Tongue
