Capes of Distinction

Great update.

Got the 80 cape, vet cape and classic cape. Funny thing is though, don't think ive ever played classic.
I want the max cape now tbh.

I'm angry at myself for never signing into Classic when it was still available. I missed out on a black hood... argh! I mean, the cape is great too, but the hood would have looked sweet with some of my other gear. Oh well.

Well, I've met "Max". I told Max that I liked his cape (he was lvl 138 so I guess it was probably the "max cape"). I told max that his outfit looks great.

Then I noticed something strange about Max. The options when you click on him were slightly different to clicking on another player.

Hmm, very interesting, I wasn't aware of this. I did some research and it looks like the last time they opened it up was June 2010.

I'm hoping they do it again this year so I can get a chance to get in, but it makes me wonder; now that there's a cape, they might not open it up again for anyone because it would be unfair to those who already have capes?

In the same respect, one could also say that they would re-open Classic simply because the veterans cape can later be obtained by people who do not meet the requirements of it now. Accounts will continue to grow older, and I'm sure there will eventually be a 10-year veterans cape released to accommodate for it.

Long point put short: If the vets cape can be obtained by anyone (given that the passing of time will fulfill their requirement eventually) then I'm hoping the classic cape will be the same, in that future players can still obtain it if they are willing to take the time to log into RSC when and if Jagex reopens it.

They've done it over the last few years and it doesn't affect people who have a Classic cape anyone, they can play their classic account any time they please. (:

Yeah, I just figured people would rage because their cape wouldn't be as "special" if people could get it in the future. Jealousy often breeds hate in that way, haha.
