Yeah same thing happened to me, when the 99 capes first came out in 2007, before them I was dragging on getting 99 wcing, I almost didn't get it. But then the capes came out and it gave me motivation to play again and to keep on going with my goal of getting 99 wcing. I probably won't ever see a Completionist cape but I can just keep on trying :p

I agree that when skill capes came out, they were motivating. But the completionist cape is a HUGE goal to accomplish, it kind of felt like a slap in the face, as if my own goals weren't good enough.

That's just the way I am, though; a perfectionist at heart, I always try to be the best. I honestly would have to push every ounce of my free time into getting the cape if I really wanted it, and even then it would literally take me years to get it.

Yeah, it's something to work for; a challenge. But I kind of got a stomachache thinking about how much free time I'd have to blow on RS to get it... and I really don't want to no-life that much.

I mean, don't get me wrong, it's great to always have a goal to strive for. It's just that this goal is so far out of reach, it's a little discouraging, but that's just my personal opinion. It's still a great cape no matter what, and major kudos to the people who are able to obtain it. But for me, I'm putting it out of sight, out of mind to avoid giving up my own goals.

Again, this is all majorly opinionated; I'm not stating any of this as fact. Others will find plenty of motivation in getting the capes, and that's why I'm happy for them and not angry with the update. ^_^

The completionist cape has finally motivated me to go for 120 Dungeoneering. I was a little reluctant about training it after 99 even though I enjoy it, because 120 seemed so far away, but I've finally decided to go for it, if only for the cape.
The different capes for all levels 70, 80, 90 etc are also a really good idea. I know alot of people who have started training skills like Runecrafting which they often would have ignored so that they can get all their skills to a certain level to get the cape. The emote for the completionist cape is fantastic as well - I wonder who will be the 2nd person to get the trimmed completionist cape? 5k Castle Wars games will take ages, unless someone is already close to it.

Actually, at the time of posting, 240 people have played over 5k games of castle wars. However, there's very few who actually are close to max skills and all that in that list. Phoenix Odin is the only one that stuck out to me, but I'm sure there's a few more candidates for next trimmer if you looked.

Hmm.. I still do think that 5k castle wars games is a bit much. Maybe 1k or so would be fine but 5k sounds a bit ridiculous. Even if you enjoy it, that's alot of hours spent in the game.

5k castle wars games isn't just a random amount of games they just threw in there for the hell of it, there's actually a "Cwars Professional" cape that requires 5000 games to purchase. Seeing as this was added before the completionist cape...it's more than fair that it's a requirement. A crazy one, but fair nonetheless.

I had no idea there was a cwars cape, I need to check out the rewards since they updated it. The problem I find with the insane amount of castle wars games needed now is the fact that alot of maxed players have started afking there just to try and reach the requirements:

Someone else posted a screenshot in the HLF forums showing 15 maxed playres just standing there. If there was a lower requirement then I think more people would play the game for fun rather than just standing there. I know they won't be changing the requirements now, but expect to see alot of people afking at castle wars now. Even Castle Wars (the only guy to have a trim completionist cape) afk'd some of his games.
