I don't really have much of an opinion on this, but here are my thoughts.

I kind of expected this to happen, in all honesty. As Meg said, we talked about it and we were both pretty uncomfortable with people doing it, and we knew it was a risk that people were taking upon themselves. We figured people would be getting reset for doing it. As for bans, no, I think that's a little extreme. Maybe a temporary ban as a slap on the wrist, but nothing permanent. I don't think they'd do a permanent ban, but only time will tell. As Evaluate said, the jump wasn't intended to rival the best agility course in the game. Sure, it wasn't a gargantuan amount of experience in difference, but it was still out of place, if that makes sense. "If it's too good to be true, then it probably is." Yes, past experiences with bugs and their punishments (or lack thereof) could be argued against this case, but I honestly didn't expect Jagex to just watch this slip by. They must have their reasons for what they do and I don't really feel like getting into a huge debate on it, because there are two sides to every story and nobody is going to be 100% correct since none of us work for Jagex. I know a few clan members did partake in this activity, and for their sake I hope all ends up well. But, in future, if you see something out of place in the game, it's probably best to avoid it.

This is silly by Jagex.

As an earlier poster said: I'm allowed to store items in my unicorn as well as use the healing effect. I'm allowed to repeatedly kill corp for a 100% sigil drop rate. I'm not allowed to "sit there clicking and getting high XP" So apparently people who are going to get banned or rolled back because of getting some agility exp are WORSE than those who abused the corp glitch to get mass sigil drops? I love Jagex logic, I really do.

An update, with a little more promising news on the situation. I've bolded the parts that are most appealing to those who took part in the agility bug.

Mod Chrisso Wrote:The point I've been trying to make is that this WAS a bug. This is irrefutable - it was not how the game was intended to work and it gave far more XP than it was meant to. That makes it, by definition, a bug. Please can people stop saying "it's not a bug! L2bug chrisso!" - because actually that's just not a debatable fact. "At most, some people may get their agility XP set back, if anything at all."

I like the last part of that sentence

Banning seems too extreme. An experience rollback would be fairer, however they work that out.

It was pretty obvious that it wasn't part of what they had intended and in a way it's a slap in the face to those that work for a higher agility level to then get less experience then an easier method via a shortcut that most levels (Not certain of the lvl requirements for the shortcut) can use.
People using it knew it wasn't intended, like others have said. For such a small amount of experience why risk your account? I doubt anyone will be banned over it, because as you said it wasn't a huge experience bonus over other methods. I think you just have to use common sense on the matter and don't rely on past cases where people have survived getting banned for bug abuse. =:-:= Live Young, Have Fun And May Tomorrow Never Come =:-:=

Shortcuts have always given agility experience- much like pickpocketing has always given thieving experience but Pyramid Plunder and Blackjacking always offered better rates. Am I to assume I can't pickpocket knife fighters because the experience is too generous? If anything, they're more extreme as the rates are better than the "real" method. Am I going to get banned for training thieving in this way? I can only assume so now.A few things. First of all, this glitch IS the fastest experience possible in the game (well it was). Timing it correctly you could get 80K max, the previous max was 72K from the Barbarian Extended Course. Also you could just position your mouse in one area, and even without concentrating hard 60K+ is easy (this is without a level requirement which is insane). Sure agility shortcuts give experience, but clearly not this much, and I think it was pretty obviously a glitch. Your comparing it to Monkey Knife Fighters does not make sense, blackjacking is a method of thieving that has already been used for ages. I am not saying Jagex handled it perfectly, it should have been fixed sooner, but I do not think they are in the wrong with this. "If everybody helps his neighbour then who needs help?"
