Morytania Tasks
Thread Closed

#1
It's high time for a new set of Tasks (or Achievement Diary for the hardened veterans among you), so RuneScape's eeriest area – Morytania – has been given the full Task treatment. There's plenty to do as you traverse Morytania's foggy fens and ramshackle settlements, and the rewards on offer are gruesomely good.

You can now complete 51 brand-new Tasks within Morytania, across Easy, Medium, Hard and Elite categories. Everything from crafting snelms and playing skullball all the way up to summoning a ghast familiar and besting all seven of the Barrows Brothers is included, so you’ll be busy for some time.

Completing the Easy Tasks will earn you a set of leg armour, whose stats and other benefits increase as you complete the higher category. To start with, they’ll double the fungus created by the Bloom spell, and later benefits include double-speed cannonball making in Port Phasmatys; 50% more XP from burning shades; and a chance to runecraft additional blood runes per essence.

What's more, completing a category will also impart a number of permanent, passive perks that remain in effect whether or not you're wearing the Morytania legs. These include increased Slayer XP while completing tasks in the tower; free planks each day; increased yield and no disease on the Morytania mushroom patch; the ability to exchange bones for bonemeal and slime each day; and reduced prayer point drain in the Barrows.

Finally, it wouldn't be complete without a healthy helping of XP lamps – usable in the skills of your choice.

Along with the Morytania Tasks comes our latest Early Bird Bonus. Everyone who completes the Easy and Medium Tasks before April 11th 2012 will receive an additional 15k XP lamp for use on any skill over level 50.

It's pretty nice. The rewards are ok and it's finally getting me to do some stuff I have been putting off like burn my vyre corpses and level my tt and br companions.

Good update, some of the tasks will be a pain for me due to not liking this sort of thing anyway. One thing that really annoys me is why they're making us complete Temple Trekking when it's a Trimmed Comp Cape requirement..../confused

Update 6/10

Cause there's not much they can put in for elite task there in morytania. Though I do think it's stupid to have both the game necklace tele and the ghast in the elite set. They should have just 1 for the elite.

I love achievement diaires. Wub Free runecrafting xp and other cool rewards!
Not to mention I already have all the requirements (thank goodness) except for 1 summoning level off, but I need higher summoning for other tasks anyway.

Looks like Barrows gets even easier. Seems like a good update, time to train RC.

My guess is they really wanted to use both "Not Such a Rotten Idea" and "Thoroughly A-Ghast" as task names, and couldn't decide which to cut out.

I also thought it would be difficult to find a good set of elite tasks to complete in the Morytania area, but they did a pretty good job filling out the list compared with the 5 tasks in Ardy elite. As far as being redundant, Fremennik elite does the same thing where they have two different agility tasks, and Karamja elite has two for summoning. It's not anything new, and it's probably more common in the easy-hard sets because nobody is going to notice.

I really enjoyed knocking out these tasks. There were a few I couldn't complete yet, like barehanded sharks, haven't started the darkmeyer quest yet (just haven't gotten around to it yet but it's on my list of "to do's") and of course I don't have 500 total levels in TT/BR yet but I have gotten them more than halfway.

It was fun overall and I did receive the early bird bonus of 15k so all in all I gave it a 5/5 smile

5/5 for me, I love tasks and is making me finish temple trekking after I was going to leave it when I had 500 total levels lol
Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine!
