Wow surprised at the amount of no votes from the clan.
Personally I am hugely excited for this!! I think it is an awesome idea, and I have dreamed of something like this for years ever since I used to read G&A archives of my favourite topics.
I pretty much have the exact same thoughts as Justin about this. I just quoted him and took out the stuff that didn't apply haha.
I started playing a couple months after when this new RS (or rather old RS) would take place, so thats pretty cool. I am well aware at many of the annoying things about it, but honestly I played classic for awhile and loved it. There are a few reasons I don't play it more though. There are no highscores but this will have them. There isn't much of a community there (most of the people are great but its just not the same), but with this there would be a bigger community (it doesn't have to be that big to please me, just enough) and I would likely have friends playing too. Finally there is really no AFK at all in Classic, and I am all for intensive training but it is nice to have the occasional method that you can relax on. This 2007 scape seems great for me!
I can't believe I am actually contemplating leaving Runescape. I will just take it slow and make a decision when the time comes (assuming of course it hits the right amount of votes. I do think 500K will at least be hit). I do think it is cool that everyone will start from strach, sure I will easily fall behind the no lifers but it will be much more close than now. Since I started this game so late compared to most people, I have always been behind. Now the tables are even!
Also @Gohankuten@ to me it makes perfect sense not to have a no vote. It doesn't matter how many no votes there are, if they hit the required amount they will have enough support for the game. They have stated it won't take away anything from the current game and a new team will be hired for it. The people playing it will pay for it, so its not a waste of anything. This is why I don't understand any hate about this update, its either a benefit to you or doesn't affect you (besides maybe friends leaving).
EDIT: My only concern at this point is with the clan. I know there is clan chat in the 2007 servers, so I am hoping that I can connect to Surreal's chat. If I can, I am pretty sure I will stay in the clan. If not, I will have to think about it, since I will need to log in to the current RS to meet activity reqs and such. At the worst I will become an honoured member, but I will still be as active on the forums as ever and this might force me to go on IRC more for chitchat haha. This is assuming I even switch over of course.

-I'll play for a while and see which is more fun before dropping one I guess
-I'll be interested to see whether you can play both simultaneously or not, if so then 200M wc on ivyscape here we come!
