2007 - Old School RuneScape... You Vote!

Wait Dave, there are going to be updates on this new server? I was under the impression that the dedicated team was only for fixings bugs, stopping bots/rule-breaking and community aspects.

I'm under the impression that they would only do essential game updates like those bug fixes/bot nuke, but also in my mind I could see them bringing in the GE... maybe even an update like changing unid herbs to grimy herbs.... stuff like that.

If the vote reaches 700k then they will start holding polls to let the players decide what game updates they want brought in to 07scape and they will put in the updates in a reasonable manor. So if they do reach 700k then I could see grimy herbs and gwd getting put in.

Thats good, I know it will be hard to draw the line as Justin said, but I do hope some small things get added.
Big things like GWD probably won't come IMO, but I wouldn't be opposed to it necessary. I am thinking more like some of the bank related stuff (such as tabs, search etc.) and possibly grimy herbs. Those (mostly just the bank) are the only things I wouldn't like.

I'll be starting a new account to DIY with on 2007scape. Just as a little side thing when I'm bored.

I think it will be a stretch even to hit 250K votes now. Such a shame, but the numbers don't lie and I understand.
I will play a bit the first month since I get it free for voting, but I don't see myself switching over to 07scape after all. Since even if it does hit 250K votes I don't have the money to pay for membership on this account and on that account with the extra $5.

Yeah, seems there wasn't as much support as even I thought there would be. Most of these folks now though are so use to the current game I doubt anyone really plans on switching, the community wanting this older version of RS has all voted and now it's up to us, the rest of the player base.

I also will probably try it out with my 30 free day trial but after that I will let my '07 account go inactive as I don't want to pay for it and this current server.

90% of people going to login, realise how crap the game was back then, and log back out and continue as is now, either play eoc or not play at all.

People just seem to look back on stuff with a distorted vision of what they enjoyed back then, not what was bad/stuff they dont remember

It's not completely unreasonable, they said if the vote gets to 750k it's be released to free players as well. Idk if they actually will but it wouldn't be completely outlandish if they did.
